My take on why public Relations is Creative::
As a second-generation public relations counselor and a past national chair / CEO of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), I’ve spent my entire life around this profession, and so enjoy a unique perspective. Sure, if you’re describing “creative” as the ability to use words, picture and sounds to capture the imagination, our advertising brethren deserve tons of credit. That’s what they do … and do well. But I think creativity goes much further, and deeper. It’s the ability to create something from nothing and the capacity to find new solutions to old problems. Using those definition, PR is epitomizes creativity.
